Из цикла «Выставка одного экспоната»
Exhibition from the cycle "Exhibition of one exhibit" is open in the exhibition department of the State Center Museum of Contemporary History of Russia «E. Evtushenko Gallery «from June 18 to July 18, 2021.
Work "Drawing" (1976) of Dorothea Shemyakina (1964-2018) is on the display. Dorothea is the daughter of the famous artist and sculptor Mikhail Shemyakin. At the age of 12, she became the youngest participant in the representative exhibition of contemporary Russian art at the Palais des Congrès in Paris, organized by A. Glezer and M. Shemyakin. The exhibition included 502 works of the independent Russian artists, where Shemyakina presented 19 of her works, and this drawing was among them. The entire art world started talking about her as the draftsman-prodigy with her own, already developed unique imaginative world. Dorothea is the successor to her father's style. Admirers of the fine arts were surprised by the sarcasm, unusual for the teenager, which could be seen in the girl's works, and their exquisite graphics. Dorothea took over from her father the ability to concisely convey the impulse of movement in one stroke, and from her mother, the artist Rebecca Modlin, the subtlety of color perception.
Entrance to the exhibition is carried out with the museum entrance ticket.
